So the first night home was harder than I expected it to be! I guess got REAL used to all the nurses taking such GREAT care of Finn and I. Although, I can't complain because Darren and my Mom and Dad are also showering us with lots of attention too! In fact, Darren deserves a medal. He's basically done everything for Finn today so that I could get some rest. Recovering from a C-Section is hard work!
Today we went to his 2 day check up. He still has jaundice and needs to gain back some weight. We're working on that (every 2-3 hours) but still seemed to have time today for a bath.

He is super cute! Take care of yourself, it is a lot of work to recover...even from a normal delivery. Remember it won't always be as hard as it is those first few weeks:) Enjoy that little Finn and his tiny bumb!
ReplyDeleteWhy did you have to have a C-section?
ReplyDeleteAh, why the c/s? I had a c/s with Rex after 37 hours of labor and it makes the adjustment to parenthood just that much harder. Hope you are getting lots of rest and taking care of yourself. I had a amazing vaginal birth with Sam though, so just remember not every labor or delivery is the same! He is so cute! And I never look cute either. Who cares about makeup when you are running on 2 hour sleep increments?
ReplyDeleteCould he be any cuter? I'm in love...and he's dressed to kill. The baby bum is the cutest ever--you forget how tiny they are. My kids are oohing and ahing over him right now. The first few weeks are the hardest--it gets so much easier. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteMore more more!! I'm just loving the pictures and loving the stories. You look fantastic. Like a mother warrior...and that's more beautiful than anything.
ReplyDeletethere's just no preparing for that first night home.
ReplyDeletei'm obsessed with that yellow and white hat. good gracious.
he really is so amazingly cute.
kelly
He really is that cute, isnt he? Do you have to do that stupid biliblanket? Mitch had to be on it too for 3 days straight- 24-7. Although the jaundice makes babies look really really tan...jealous. You look great BTW
ReplyDeleteI was so excited to see you had posted--this little guy is adorable! He is SO tiny and precious and that little face is just perfect. I agree with Brooke, those first few days/weeks are just a bizarre whirlwind--the best of times and the worst of times. Normalcy will return! (Well, a new normal.)
ReplyDeletePrecious little wrinkly baby bottoms. So cute. Be good to yourself my dear!
ReplyDeleteLuckily, everyone is focused on the baby (not you). But I"m glad to hear that you got some time to rest. Never underestimate rest! He really is just so sweet and so tiny. :)
ReplyDeleteSo so So SO cute! You and Darren are doing a great job - those pictures are to die for! I can't get enough of him and what a cute family you are!
ReplyDeleteI'm DYING to see him. He is SO DANG cute. My kids are loving looking at "baby finn-y!" Oh he's so cute, i can't stand it. Also, your giving him a sponge bath and he's not even screaming?!?!? Just as happy as can be....that is going to be one good baby!
ReplyDeleteOh he is such a doll. More pictures, please!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you guys! Glad everything is going great.
oh no, I am sorry you had the c-section. Pete was born cesarean as well. Its tough. Good luck with recovery. Its not too bad after a few weeks. It will go by quickly. And he is so beautiful. I love his name. Well done you guys, well done!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! And I agree - tell us the birth story.
ReplyDeleteYour baby doesn't even look like an old man. That's an accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteCongrats. I hope your baby has spiderman powers. And I know Darren does too.
Adorable.
ReplyDeletesuch a cute little guy. Hope you are all fine. Rest and enjoy your little guy.
ReplyDeleteWow. He is amazing. Darren looks so happy andd I can't believe you wore make-up home from the hospital! I don't know if I will be doing that:) Keep posting pictures please.
