Then our flight from Aberdeen was canceled.
With no way to contact my parents while they were in the air, we had to just get on the next soonest plane, fly to a different airport, and try to meet them as soon as we could. I called the airport and the plan was for them to receive a page an hour after their flight landed telling them to meet us at Victoria Station at 4:00 PM.
Turns out they never got the page. Darren and I frantically searched the station for an hour, until he finally convinced me that they were still at Heathrow, having never known to leave there for Victoria. We decided to split up, me staying 'just in case' and him going to the airport to collect them. We had missed three calls, but since we can't check our voicemail on our hand-me-down phone, had no way of getting a hold of them.
The next two hours were like the most miserable of my life of late. It was FREEZING in the station, like an idiot, I had worn capris, and our mobile was dying. I found a Starbucks that would let me charge my phone, and I waited for Darren to call me with news. When my phone rang about an hour and half later and it was my Dad's voice on the other line asking "Ummm, Lindsey? Where are you?", I just lost it.
There I was in Victoria Station, in LONDON (my dream come true), crying like a baby.

An hour later we were all reunited and the rest of the trip went off without a hitch.
We had SO much fun and took 1006 pictures by the time the two weeks are over. Don't worry, I won't post every single one.
I got sick two days into the trip and was hopped up on Cold & Sinus medicine the whole time, so Darren was completely and utterly in charge of the camera. My favorite pictures are the ones he took of my parents when they were first seeing all of the major sites. It makes me cry just looking at these.

I miss them so bad it hurts.

I had chills the entire post. What a memory that will last you all forever. Your parents are the neatest people ever. Can't wait for more pictures!
I can't wait to see more pictures. I LOVE your parents.
Oh, this makes me love and miss you! You are the sweetest person ever. I love how much you love your parents. They are SUCH good people. I am so sorry your trip together began so nightmarish-ly! But it looks so amazing after that. I LOVE London! Your pictures make me want to go wander around. And I love that picture of you in your cute sunglasses and scarf with your parents. As for your butt--it is a beautiful sight to behold! BEAUTIFUL!!!
P.S. It's cool that Darren was on camera duty so you got to be in some pictures. I feel like I am always behind the camera, which is fine most of the time, but what if I get hit by a bus? It's good to have proof that we were once alive.
I love the pictures so far. I hope you post every single one--I love London and I'm so glad you got to go with your awesome parents. I have my mom's exact body and it's a blessing and a curse. I think it's funny that Darren noticed that you and your mom have the same bum!
Mom and dad began showing us all the pictures from the trip last night but we got interrupted by the kids, etc. So we only made it through about a hundred I couldn't get over how AWESOME Darren did with taking pictures. They are very artistic and the composition was incredible. He did a great job! Thanks for taking lots of pictures so that we can feel like we can be apart of your guys amazing trip. Miss you so much and I made sure to collect my Webcam and we now have it. SKYPE SOON?!? Please? Love and miss you like crazy, only about 30-some odd days until we get to see you IRL. Can't wait!
That last one was from me! ---Ash
Yes, Darren's pictures are amazing! I thought I would be bored looking at 1000 pictures, but I totally was not and I can't wait to look at every single one of the rest of them! I have the same bum too. It is extra girth-y right now...
I would prefer it if you would post every picture you took on the trip. Every. Single. One.
p.s. I'm excited for London Part II.
I was trying to find the right words in my memory and they just came to me--METCALF FRASS. Is that what you used to call it?
Post all of the pictures Lindsey! I can't wait to see more. I am so glad your parents were able to come visit you. Can't believe in a month you will be visiting us!!! Hang in there! These memories you are making will be priceless to you!
I love that the word FRASS is being used. I think every woman needs a little junk in their trunk. Can't wait for more pictures!
